In West Sussex, UK, a Beagle mix ran away from their owners, took part in a dog show and returned home. It is reported by the Daily Mail.
Spouses Paul and Peter Closier said they picked up a one-year-old beagle mix named Bonnie on the Greek island of Crete four years ago. On Sunday, July 10, Bonnie disappeared somewhere, after which Closier began to call veterinary clinics, familiar dog owners and attracted neighbors to search.
On the same day, Paula saw a post on the social network with a photo of the pet. Someone named John Wilmer reported that he had found the dog and was now trying to help her reunite with her owners. The woman contacted Wilmer and learned that he was taking his two dogs to a dog show and spotted Bonnie on the side of the road. He picked it up and immediately posted it. When the owners of the fugitive were found, he decided to declare her as a participant in the competition, since she had traveled all the way with him.
Wilmer jokingly added Bonnie’s candidacy to the list of contenders for the title of the best dog adopted from the shelter. The animal liked the judges and was awarded for the third place in the nomination. As a result, the fugitive returned home with a medal.
Earlier it was reported that the dog, which the owners from the US state of Kansas left in the animal hotel for the duration of the vacation, escaped from there and came home on its own. Americans suddenly received a notification from a smart camera installed on the door of their house and saw how the animal was trying to enter the house.
