Scientists at the University of Texas conducted a study to determine whether flies and cockroaches are carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The results of the study, published in the Journal of Medical Entomology, showed that biting flies and cockroaches are not carriers of COVID-19.
Scientists examined insect samples collected from households whose owners, as well as their pets, were ill with COVID-19. The virus was not found in the examined samples.
